Is the ST (D) out yet?
Discussion
According to several websites the The MK4 is going to be available as a 190bhp diesel.
The petrol goes on sale in June but does anyone know when the release date is for the diesel?

Are you intending to hand in your Man card, Pete? No respectable PHer would ever buy the coal powered version of a Ford ST (or RS if they made one). The petrol goes on sale in June but does anyone know when the release date is for the diesel?

Presumably the diesel 5 door goes on sale at the same time as the petrol model.
I have not read anything that says otherwise?
The Carwow link above states from £29,495 June 2019, which is the price of the diesel 5 door.
The petrol model starts at £31,995 which IMO is just way too expensive.
Significant discounts will need to be available if the Mk.4 ST is to sell well.

My GTD was about £29k 2.5 years ago. So is the pricing that out ?

Are you asking me if an equivalent diesel Focus should be priced the same as a Golf? If so then I would say no, it should be cheaper.Your £29k was presumably for the basic model without any optional extras, which is the only way the figure could have any relevance in this case.
I was only speaking about the price of the petrol Mk4 ST though which is most definitely overpriced, in my humble opinion of course.
P.S. Yes I realise there is only one spec at present which is equivalent to the previous ST3, but the price has risen far too much. £30k+ basic puts it into a different league, so that's why I say there will need to be significant discounts available.

Last night I ended up watching an old youtube review of the Mk3 ST when it first came out and they were saying prices started from about £22-23k, which I guess is equivalent to around £26k today. So an entry point of about £30k is a significant hike.Your £29k was presumably for the basic model without any optional extras, which is the only way the figure could have any relevance in this case.

I'm sure there'll be decent discounts available on the Mk4 ST once it's been out a while but I am surprised they've dropped the lower spec versions. Surely it would have been a good marketing tactic to have a "basic" spec version available for significantly less than it's rivals, as I imagine once they'd hooked someone in it would be fairly easy to upsell to an ST2 or ST3 as they seem by far the most popular choices in the Mk3.
