iphone audio navigation muted over bluetooth (fiesta)
Discussion
Apologies if this is a silly question but i've had no luck with either search or google. I have a 64 plate fiesta st 2, when i connect my iphone via bluetooth all audio from my phone is muted. I don't want the navigation instructions to come through the car speakers, i'm happy to listen to them via the phone but its completely silent. I have the Play voice over Bluetooth option enabled in google maps but it hasn't helped, am i being dense?
I've got a Fiesta ST too and have had a similar problem now and again. All the audio being muted.

That seemed to do the trick for me. Whenever I lose the audio now, I just do what's shown in the video and it seems to work.
May or may not sort your issue but worth a try.

An important piece of information; do you connect your phone via a USB cable at the same time?
If I connect my iPhone via the USB->Lightening connection for charging it will inevitably think I want to use the connector to send all audio over. In this case if I need to charge at the same time as use the phone, I have to change the source on the phone from 'dock' to 'bluetooth'.
In Google maps you can also enable or disable navigation as a phone call (I think it's called something like that). Importantly this only works when your on the Aux source; Disabled - it is sent over bluetooth and quietens the music down as it's announced then brings it back up again. Enabled - no matter what source you are using, Radio/Aux etc it will look like a phone call, say it's piece, then disconnect.
So depends what you desire. I personally have never used the phone for navigation only, using its own speakers for the job. I have a iTunes music and a large data plan so I've set it up to deal with everything via Sync. Keeps things simple on the move
