2012 Fiesta leaking boot
Discussion
Hi all, my new partner has a 2012 5 door fiesta. Shes asked me to have a look at the boot because it was soaked (few weeks ago when raining) sure enough boot carpet on boot floor and drivers side carpet against wheel arch was soaked but not the passenger side one, decided the light cluster was the probably cause.
Removed the light cluster, lots of dirt against the seal so cleaned it all up and put some vaseline around the seal and refitted.
next heavy rain session and once again soaked on the drivers side.
Is this a known issue with this model? I cant see how else it would be getting in.

There was a common issue with poorly applied seam sealant on the join between the roof & side panel (under the plastic "gutter" trim). Seen a bunch of them with sealant faults an inch or two forward of where the roof stops & tailgate upper edge starts - presumably automated seam sealing that wasn't quite on the money....
If this is the issue, don't expect to see a hole as such in the sealant bead, it will most likley appear as a small kink or dip in the bead & it only takes a tiny, hardly noticable perforation to let quite a bit of water in.
Enjoy!

I've used this http://www.captaintolley.com/ to solve similar water ingress issues.
