So I'm looking at buying a 2008 Focus ST-2 with 49k on it and I have a few questions.

1. The cambelt hasn't been done, is this a deal breaker (car is £7,350)
2. Is £7,350 a fair price at an independent dealer?

The cambelts are every 10 years, I have a 2008 ST2, (now on 53k) and had mine done together with the waterpump last year. I would budget on doing it if you get it.

Cambelt, water pump and block mod - you’ll get quotes from £500 - £1000.

Get it done.

£7k ish sounds about right if it’s in good condition.
There’s a few buying guides online if you search for them, mentioning the points to look out for.
As said, budget for the block mod, water pump and cambelt change (all gets done at same time) - £400 ish.
If it’s chipped (look to see if it boosts up to the full 1 bar - if it does, it’s been chipped) or if you plan to chip it, budget for an RS clutch as well - £750 ish I think.
They’re nice cars. Enjoy!

Cambelt and waterpump as a condition of sale, otherwise walk away, very important.

If it's barried in anyway move on.
