09 fiesta zetec s immobiliser

Have a problem with a 09 fiesta zetec s where the immobiliser light flashes rapidly, power all works but when I try and start it nothing happens, starter motor doesn’t start up or anything, I have tried most tricks to remedy it like lock and unlock with the key itself, tried unplugging the battery and wait 15 minutes and still the same problem, no idea what to do now

Sounds like the car doesn't recognise the key.

Do you have a spare key ?

Yes I have tried both keys

Has the car been standing for a while? My Puma does exactly this if left for a week or two (my 20-year-old Toad alarm loves draining batteries) and when it does a jump start or a recharged battery always does the trick.

If the same fault is apparent with both keys (assuming they are both OK), then this may point to an issue on the car.

Have you checked all the fuses associated with the engine / ECU ?

Don't suppose you have an OBD reader which would enable you to check whether the ECU was powering up ?
