Drivers door microswitch fix on mk4 fiesta (Alarm going off)
Discussion
I've been trying to find out how to change/disconnect the drivers door microswitch on a 5 door a mk4 fiesta (1.25 Ghia 1999 T Reg). The alarm keeps going off when locked and the amber door open light flickers on the dash (when all doors closed and key in ignition). I think its the drivers door that is the culprit. There are a few guides on the GEM module test for the mk5/6 but I can't seem to find a definitive guide for the mk4 and how to replace/remove/fix the microswitch. (In fact I'm not sure what it even looks like!)
I took the door card off yesterday to take a look but aside from spraying the lock mechanism with wd40 (which appeared to fix it temporarily in that the light went on/off properly with door opening/closing) I didn't get much further than that! Soon realised my 'fix' hadn't worked a few hours later as the alarm started going off again so the car is now being left unlocked until I solve the issue!
Any help much appreciated!
