Hi all,

My dad recently told me about his Ford Escort RS Cosworth he owned circa 1992. All we know it was dark blue possibly Pacifica Blue or Petrol Blue, Reg at the time K45 CAR. K45 CAR in 1993 was registered to a silver Fiesta. However we don't have anymore details on the car or the VIN. We would love to know if its still out there. Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you sure that’s the right ref? It’s showing as a 1993 Ford Fiesta on the MOT history check.

K was Aug 92 - Jul 93.
K45CAR is a Feb 93 silver 1.3 Fiesta that hasn't been around since 2005.

What's the odds somebody moved that plate from the Escort to the Fiesta? Compared to the odds of that plate being on the Fiesta from new, and your old man's memory being a bit flaky about the plate on a car he owned over 25 years ago?

Hi, are you sure it was a Cosworth? I have the Ford build sheet for it (Ford list that chassis as both a Fiesta and an Escort btw)
It says it is/was a 1.8 (105ps) 3 door, XR model in black, RHD, FWD

Is that from the reg?

1.8/105ps would be right for an XR2i of that vintage, wouldn't it? But DVLA have the reg as a silver 1.3 Fiesta.

That's from Ford ETIS. It actually lists the Fiesta on a different chassis (maybe a de-registered car for some reason and plate reallocated)

Here is the spec for the Escort --->
