Focus mk1 drum to disc conversion - parts list
Discussion
I'm thinking of doing a rear drum-to-disc conversion on my Focus mk1 'track' car.
Reading online, it seems possible using bits designed for a 2.0 car (mine is a 1.8), but there's not a lot of information from people who have actually done it.
I'm curious about the full parts list I'll need. Obviously discs, pads, calipers, hubs and hoses will be needed, but what about carriers, spindles and backing plates?
I can't seem to find any of those three for sale on eBay or on ECP/GFS etc., so I'm wondering whether I'm just not searching for the right thing, or whether the only option is to get them from a scrapyard. The problem with getting them that way is that I'm fairly inexperienced and I don't have cutters etc,, so I don't fancy spending all day at a scrapyard trying to remove a bolt that's been rusting on for nearly 20 years!
Any advice from anyone who's done this greatly appreciated.
Side question, would the rear brakes from an ST170 fit?
Thanks.
