Morning Ladies/Gents after a few ideas if I have to look for further problems
Back story 2009 2.2tdci
I went to use the car on Tuesday morning after parking it on Sunday, I walked up it opened as usual but upon pressing the power button the radio lit up but not the dash, I tried to start the car anyway and didn't get anything (maybe a click or two but nothing else) so I went round the car and locked it manually and have used a friends car for the last couple of days. I'm thinking the battery has finally dropped a cell as it the original on 100k and 9yrs old. I will try to give the battery a boost later as see if the car responds (will check main fuses as well) but if it doesn't do you have any ideas on what could cause this any help is appreciated.
Many Thanks
Ian

I would try take your spare key as well - it could possibly be the chip in the key has broken somehow? - It sounds like it is the battery dropping the cell. (my 56 reg, 150k mile car has just had its original battery replaced)
I had tried the spare before coming on here which didn't make any difference anyhow I jumped the car yesterday from my friends mighty Peugeot 107 and it fired up, I took the battery off to give it a charge but it made my charger throw a wobbler even though all the cells had plenty of fluid in them, I can only think that one of the plates has broken within a cell. New battery ordered and will refit this weekend its a simple job even if you do have to remove the airbox to be able to get the 80ah battery forward enough to lift it out.Gassing Station | Ford | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
