My rear wiper doesn't work, I've taken it out, cleaned it and put it back in, is there a way to test it to find out if a specific component within the motor is broken or to check to see whether the power is even getting to the motor

Check the wiring with a voltmeter first.

Take the plug out of the motor, put the wiper stalk to the on position. Check to see if there’s power getting to there, just be careful as it’ll be intermittent as the wiper doesn’t run all the time.

there's power going to it, 1 perm live and 1 switched live, guessing faulty motor, is there any way i could repair this? i think its seized in position, i tried turning the motor that turns the plastic cog, it turned a wee bit then it just kept spinning without the cog moving. thanks

Try a 2nd hand motor from a scrap yard, cheapest option.
