FX to NX sat nav upgrade

has anyone successfully removed the factory fit Sony/FX nave head unit and CLimate panel and replaced with a full NX unit successfully? I'm Looking at a 09 Plate SMax and this has the original Sony unit in but I really like the NX nav unit on an SMax on the forecourt next to it, Unfortunately its 2x the price
