Just had a CV joint go on the Mondeo ST24 (lost all drive) and the nice AA man had to tow me to the garage.

Anyone have an approx idea of cost to get the CV joint replaced?

TIA

Nearside. Not sure whether inner or outer..AA man didn't specify. Should be picking it up today so will find out later. My first thoughts were the gearbox so this can't be as expensive as that...can it?!!

Not too expensive I would have thought. Probably in the region of £100 for the joint, plus an hour's labour. Unless they decide to change them in pairs or go for all four, plus new half shafts and engine while they're at it ...

I'm pretty sure the joints are still available as seperate parts, as well as being able to replace the entire shaft with an exchange shaft.

I can get you some part numbers and prices if you post back with what you need.

replacement is an easy job too.

Turned out to be £220 all in for new CV joint plus shaft as this had managed to shear off its splines in the process. Joint itself was £100 (spot on GreenV8S!) with labor at £40. Not bad overall and this was from an official Ford Dealer as well
