The power steering fluid on my S plate Focus 1.8 Zetec is down at the min level and I want to top it up.

The manual states automatic transmission fluid meeting Ford spec WSA-M2C 195-A. Anyone know if I can get hold of something to this spec (or equivalent) without paying a visit to a Ford garage?

Thanks,

Why not visit a ford parts counter?

You can buy the fluid in 1LTr containers and be sure it's the right stuff.

Failing that, i'm pretty sure dextronII auto transmission fluid is suitable.

If it was a common spec just given a nice complicated Ford name I wouldn't want to pay over the odds from a Ford parts desk As making sure I got the right stuff was more important I went to one anyway, turns out it is Dextron II. They had half litre bottles for £1.99, so not exactly a rip off
