Looking to buy a Mk2 RS....in Green!
Discussion
Needs to be totally standard, and as low a mileage as poss.. Having just sold this..after years of TVR ownership, I'm now looking for an RS.
I do currently own a Mk2 ST.. so have some experience of the basic car. What differences/problems should I be thinking about with the RS v ST?
Current every day car..

Amazed you didn't get more responses to this!
With the Mk2 (If you're concerned about the values) then buy low mileage and standard.
I wouldn't say the RS gives a huge improvement over a modded ST tbh.
My friend has a Mk1 and a Mk2 together and the Mk1 is more fun (but it does have 375bhp so would be) but the Mk2 looks cooler tbh.

Sorry chaps for slow response.. forgot all about posting on here.
Well, I did pick up a green Focus Mk2 RS.. low miles, 1 previous owner, FSH, and totally standard, including the very quiet exhaust. The plan is to keep it standard, with one exception..the exhaust. I'm having a Milltek non-res cat-back fitted this afternoon at SCC in St Albans. Only so it sounds more the part...
The original exhaust will be brought back home and stored so it can always be refitted.
This is it.. and I am more than pleased with it.

Keep trying to convince her lol.. I have a Mk2 ST as my daily, but I'm probably going to sell it as it's too similar to the RS. The RS will only be a sunny day weekend car.
I do really like the Mk1, but it's the aggressive (especially in green) Mk2 that lights my fire.. especially the noise it makes with the Milltek non-res and decat!
Looking forward to attending my first show with it.

A mate of mine has a highly modified mk2 and his rs with the bcs system with sports cat sounded awesome and still sounds good the kms system on but it is very loud not what you'd want a daily.
I'm fighting a losing battle to buy an st as a daily as it's the fuel consumption that has put my partner off as the rs is bad enough. I may see you at some shows depending where in the country you are.

I was told by the guys at SCC that the KMS is just 'too' loud.. makes it uncomfortable on motorways etc... hence deciding on the Milltek.I'm fighting a losing battle to buy an st as a daily as it's the fuel consumption that has put my partner off as the rs is bad enough. Shame about the ST, but there's no denying, they're not the best on fuel uesage
I'm in Bedfordshire, and have just booked my ticket with the Beds local group to attend the RS National Day.. maybe we'll bump into each other there..
