Hi

Would really appreciate some advice. Just got a 2005 Ford Focus 2.0 Duratec HE. When cold it's astill quiet as a mouse, but when it gets warm, I have a noisy tapped. Am I right in thinking it is because as the oil gets warm it gets thinner...? I had a look at the oil in the filler cap and it looks quite dark/black. Also, it runseems a bit lumpy/vibrates. Am I right in thinking that it could use a good service? Would some Wynns work?

Any help would be awesome

Thanks in advance?

Regards

Try an oil change, it is what i would do first but i doubt it will quiet a noisy tappet? the oil on these is super thin to start with, next i would try some forte flush (or similar) and see if that works to quiten the tappeT, personly i'd wip the cam cover off and have a look see how clean the engine is inside before i decided.
If it is running rough i'd fully sevice it first just to get a decent start point to diagnose the issue BUT i would code read it first to see if there are any unflagged issues, not all issue will flash up an managment light on the dash but if you dont have the equipment an oil change cant hurt especialy if the oil is dirty.
