2005 focus 2.0 Duratec HE Petrol never gets warm.
Discussion
Hi
I've looked all over and cannot seem to find an answer to this so, here goes. Any help would be awesome.
So I bought a 2005 ford focus titanium with 86k on the clock. It idles a bit rough and never seems to get warmed up. It starts 1st pop when cold, but stays on chokes for ages, but the temp guage rarely, if never gets past the 1/4 way Mark. It has to be run for ages to get there. Then if I turn it off to put petrol in it, as soon as i gof to start it, it struggles to start. However, if I leave it off for 10 minutes It starts first pop. Strange this is, I did the self test thing this morning and temp read 62c when it was stone cold.
Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I would start with the obvious and replace the thermostat. 62C is still quite cold compared to the normal running temp of around 85-90C and probably corresponds with the 1/4 mark on the temp gauge.
Yep... 1/4 is about where it gets to... will be replacing the stat over weekend Thanks for the help
