Automatic gearbox in UK Ford Focus

Hi,

I am thinking about buying a Ford Focus automatic in the UK and I have read about the class action that is going on in other countries about the automatic gearbox problems.

I wondered - does anybody know if the UK Focus models have this same gearbox and if so, has the problem been solved? I understand that the gearbox is really a manual gearbox that is operated by software and that that was part of the problem.

I would be very glad to know what goes on with this story as I am having trouble figuring it all out by googling.
