Wow, when they go wrong they really cost!!!!

2005 Focus ST. ABS pump and module, ebay, £165, plus labour. 2 weeks later, 4 new tyres (can't really blame the car for that), steering rack, and new pads to get it through it's mot. That was just over £600.
Now, headlight bulb gone. £8.99 Halfords? Nah, try £95. It's Xenon with all the trimmings. Now that I've bought it, had it fitted, it's not the bulb, it's the amplifier behind it that gives it it's ultra bright light, that'll be another £200 Sir.
Getting pretty fed up with the damned thing.

Ballast, also on Ebay for £30.

Equally likely to go on any sort of car really. $533 for a similar vintage Audi A4 OE item. How many miles has this 12 year old car done?

Dammit!!! Wish I knew it was called ballast as I was told to look for amplifier, now it's pretty much delivered. Thanks anyway.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Replacement-D1S-Xenon-Ca...

Mileage, just under 33k.
It's a 12 yr old car. Stuff is gonna break on it - and in my experience it tends to be the low mileage little-used cars that have a habit of being money pits as the parts seem to degrade faster when they're not being used (I witnessed this first hand on my 18k Puma).
If you think those costs are bad, swap it for an equivalent sporty model Audi or BMW of the same era and then report back! I reckon you'd be wanting to keep your ST!
Also, xenons on a 2005 Focus ST? They didn't get xenons until the mk3, did they?

I have a mk2 RS. It has been very reliable.
When things have needed replacing/buying for services the costs fall in to three discrete categories:
1. Generic Ford parts:
2. Volvo (engine) parts:
3. Focus RS only parts:
FYI You own a MK2 Focus RS,THE MK2 RS was made between 1975 and 1980 as an Escort. When things have needed replacing/buying for services the costs fall in to three discrete categories:
