Finally got rid of the worn potenzas and replaced them with Michelin pilot sport 3s...

Initial impressions: pretty much excellent.

So much wet grip that I no longer care if it's wet outside.

In the dry they seem more direct with pin shall turn in.

Seem a little softer but I feel this helps if anything as you can feel more feedback.

Very happy.

Do they improve the steering feel, I always think the ST steering is a bit light.

Looking to get a full set of PS3's as my Potenzas are pretty much lunched...

Did you have any trouble with the metal valve caps for the tyre pressure monitoring? Bit hesitant on whether to let a generic tyre fitters loose on them.

Pilot sport 3 is a decent tyre. Other options in the standard size are Conti sport 5s (that's what the zetec s gets, and wins all the tests), new Goodyear f1 asy 3 or Dunlop sportmaxx rt2.

I also have access to a zetec s 125 ecoboost with the conti 5s and think they are better than the potenzas but not as good as the Michelin in my opinion, and I've got both cars back to back some days

My son's had two sets of Pilot Sport 3's on his Fiesta ST. He says they are an excellent tyre and far better than the Bridgestones it came with. Actually a lot of his friends have ST's and most of them are running PS3's. Tyre leader are doing PS3's for £71.50 each but you do have to have them fitted at your cost as Tyreleader are a German based company.
