I've just rid of my F150 lightning and bought a griffith.I think the F150 was one of the most disappointing cars I've owned. It looked marvellous but was completely defunct of any driving character what-so-ever.I only use to drive it on weekends and never really looked forward to it and done it just to keep the wheels moving and the battery charged. The roads around my area ( somerset )were a pain in the arse and you had to drive defensively just in case you met something bigger and badder around the corners.Got admired wherever you went ,done 18 mpg average, boring to drive and I think you'll be disappointed after the cerb.

I do understand what you mean,,but your likely to be dissapointed when you change from any TVR ,,the issue for me is that im sick of getting into a wet, cold cab, first thing in the morning,,you see i use mine everyday but iv also spent £5000 in 7 months since having this Cerb,, Its the second cerb iv had , i sent the old one back to TVR garage because it went through 4 starter motors in 4 weeks so they bought it back off me. Im hoping the F150 would be a lot more reliable, warmer ,,dry but most importantly im knackered after driving the Cerb it takes an enormous amount of concentration to keep on the road

I have a 2000 model Harley truck and love it. It is my daily driver and I did 20K in the last year. It is solidly built and 100% reliable. It is fun to drive and the exhaust note is great. I help run a drag funny car as well as my own drag snowmobile, so it is the perfect tool as a tow truck and support barge at the strip. I've had Porsches (993RS, Turbo 4 and GT2), Ferrari 348, top spec Mercs, etc and would not go back to them after this.

I bought mine via the web from a US dealer and the whole import process with simple. It cost me £16.5K as it sits, tax paid and its worth around £20K, so it is a great deal. I get around 16mpg driving hard, so better than my old Range Rover 4.6HSE and Merc ML55. There are enough for sale - just chech the Autotrader online or eBay - some reasonable deals around.

They came out in 2000 in the Supercab (suicide rear doors) with the 286bhp 5.4 Triton motor. The only options were a CD player and sliding rear window. Ford belatedly supplied hard cargo covers from Leer. Black only.

2001 - switched to the SuperCrew 4 door body with the same running gear. Black only.

2002 - added a supercharger (slightly detuned from the Lightning @ 340bhp) and option of dark silver grey colour.

2003 - Minor mods and anniversary badges. Black or black/silver colours.

There's a good forum at www.nhtoc.com with a UK chapter. Good luck - you won't regret it.

ive just bought a lightning.
ive done the cerbera, esprit, subaru and recently a corvette.
thing is the lightning obviously isn't a sports car but does have other endearing qualities.
its very quick, very comfy and very different, people look and nod in approval as they did in my cerb,i think once i get a sports exhaust on it will turn even more heads.
dont get me wrong i love the positive feel of a sports car,but i hate the negoiating of speed humps and potholes etc which is what forced me to change in the end.
i think the HD truck would make a great daily driver.
good luck.

Thanks mike, have you got the full blown lightening, i was disapointed to find out earlier in the thread that the 2000-2002 HD are not 340bhp as they only became supercharged in 2002, im gutted because i cant afford a 2002 HD i wanted the practical rear cab that the HD has as opposed to the lightening. But going from a Cerb i wanted as much torque an power as poss , any suggestions?

yeah,ive got the 380bhp lightning.
im no expert but these motors seem very easy to tune up and get lots more power so even if you get the older model with less power maybe you can sort it fairly easily.
have a look at F150online.com.
also dont forget that the lightning does seat three even though its a single cab.

well.....its a big tank.takes around £80 to fill from empty i think.
im getting around 17mpg,a little more on a run.
trouble is even though its a truck it'll cruise quite happily at 100mph(private road)but of course there not the most aerodynamic thing on the road so 75-80 is a lot more economical.
whereabouts are you?
trying to think where ive seen them for sale so you could have a look.

hey chrıstmc. ı had a 2000 hd ext cab for about 8 months and loved ıt. relıable and turns heads lıke nothıng else. the cost of superchargıng would be far too much. makıng ıt more expensıve than an 02. ı put mıne ın the autotrader for 18995 and sold ıt no problem to an englısh lad who flew over by easyjet on my descrıptıon. ı sold ıt cos ı got a drıve ın a lıghtnıng and couldnt belıeve the power so now have a sılver 02 wıth performance exhaust. the sound lıterally stops people ın there tracks.
