radio dimming

hi I recently bought a focus with the ford sat nav radio and reversing camera and cant get it to dim at night despite setting the settings to auto . what am I doing wrong thanks.

You don't say whether you have a Mk.2 or Mk.3, but on the Mk.3 the dimming control is next to the rotary light switch and you press and hold to set the level of brightness separately for when the exterior lights are on and off.
Auto lights have nothing to do with dashboard dimming.

Do you mean mk1 or mk2! Mk3 not out yet.....but OP get yourself over to www.frsoc.com everything you want to know on the mk2 RS there.

You need to read the original post a bit more closely because RS was not mentioned - simply a Focus.
In any case basic dashboard controls will be same whether it's a standard model or RS.

Well I didn't so everything I said still stands "dude"......including the part about basic dashboard controls.

hi guys yes the car is a rs all the controls are in the radio I have set the brightness for day and night then put it to automatic but when I switch the lights on it doesen,t dim.any ideas
