Mk1 Focus.... Thousands of 'em!
Discussion
I ususally drive and have had a series of very Pistonheads cars (XJ8, Saab Turbo, 6pot Beem, Capri etc...) but I find myself needing to drive to work and provide a runaround for the family much more these days.
Have noticed Mk1 Focus are still everywhere will see 3 or 4 on each drive to work, and they're all at least 10 years old by now, so is it because they sold originally by the zillion, or are they actually very reliable and a good choice for a daily shed?
A 2.0 Ghia is appealing and there's a few cleanish ones on ebay for not much more than a couple of cashpoint visits.
Do they rust in any particular places or are there any other significant issues? (am quite handy at basic spannering)

As above, they're good to drive, reliable and cheap to fix. They do however rust so make sure you have a good look at the bottom of the doors, the boot lid and around the mirrors.
2.0 Ghia is a good car however the 2.0 isn't great on fuel and is expensive on tax. Also the 6 CD changers are fragile, and I've had issues with temp sensors on the climate control.
