Mondeo '99-'03 MP3?
Discussion
Am looking to buy a Mondeo (mk3 shape) . Have researched various models and notice there was a facelift around '04 which gave models a stereo with a line input.
This is quite high up on the things I require, it's the 21st century and I can't be bothered with CD's and tapes anymore, music's on my phone now, connecting with a wire is fine, don't need bluetooth.
The older Mondeos don't seem to have a line in. Is it possible (and not too pricey) to change the head unit for a later one or an aftermarket upgrade in an earlier Mk3 as I'm rejecting decent cars for this one issue.

The preface lift stereos are easy to swap for aftermarket. Additionally you can add an aftermarket aux which uses the cd changer output. Also, the mk1 focus came in an MP3 ltd edition (with a specific stereo) which is the same figment of the preface lift mondeos.
The 01-03 cars use the older 1.5 din stereos from the mk1 focus, escort, mk2 mondeos etc
The 03 onwards use the double din which was the basis of most ford stereos until recently. These can be retrofitted with oem or aftermarket aux kits. Again an aftermarket stereo is an easy fit
