Hey
I recently bought a 56 plate ST3 from an auction so have no history on it at all. I had been having a judder through the car when using full power to accelerate, so I changed the O/S driveshaft as it seemed to come from that side. However that didn't seen to fix it.
Today, driving down the motorway, I put the clutch down to drop down a gear or two (a Golf GTI was looking a bit too cheeky for my liking) and the clutch dropped to the floor and stayed there. the clutch began to slip in 6th gear and also the ESP failure light came on, but there was no loss of power. I made it home with out the clutch but now just trying the clutch it does work but you it vibrates something terrible the you pull away and has very little bite to it.
So, what do you guys recon has gone wrong? Will I need to put in a new flywheel or just get away with clutch, pressure plate and slave?
Thanks

Might be an idea to put an RS clutch in

Yup,clutch has had it,go for the rs set up.
I done it when I went to stage 2/3,I'm in the motor trade and tbh wasn't that bad to do.
I got mine from puma build for £700.

If you're getting a really bad judder it could be the DMF is damaged. The clutch dropping and not coming back is usually a sign of the master cylinder failing.

Most places do the full RS clutch kit fitted for around £850.

Thanks all for getting back
I recon it'll be a busy weekend then. I had to replace a gearbox on my Fiesta ST for the first time myself and it's still running so I guess the Focus will be similar but on a bigger scale!?
8cylinder - how long did it take you? I only have Saturday to do and and I sorta need the car for next week. Did the subframe need taken down or will the gearbox rotate out if the engine is lowered enough?
Also, what do I need to get re. slave cylinder / release bearing? Is the release bearing part of the slave? If so where would I get a new slave?
Thanks again

Always buy a Ford slave cylinder, don't get aftermarket. Its a big box to take out, but mine was done before by Ford to an RS clutch so cant say if subframes need removing or not.
