Focus Mk2 Supercharged?

Some thoughts please on this...
Have an 07 plate Mk2 Focus 1.6 (Sigma) Estate. Bought it at 12 mths old, now done 59K miles. Been a great general runabout / load lugger. Love the handling, practicality, reliability etc, but have yearned for a bit (ok a lot) more grunt from my daily driver for some while now. Always loved the Mk2 ST Focus, but no Estate, and I'd miss being able to sling the MTB in the back without having to remove the front wheel, or load up with loads of c**p for the dump run.
Considered transplanting an ST 5 pot into mine, but just not practical from a cost perspective, i.e with looms etc it would be exorbitant.
Been looking for a 2.0 Duratec Mk2 Estate, but hardly any down here, most are autos, and what ones there are either leggy / ropey as hell or over priced Titaniums on dealer forecourts (can't stand the almost black privacy glass).
So, after a call to a Ford specialist tuner, I'm thinkng about a supercharger conversion. Rotrex kit, 9-10psi boost for reliability, probably circa 180bhp with plenty more available if you want it / prepared to pay for it. Cost? Circa 4-4.5k drive in/out.
This way I get to keep my current car that I've known from almost new (and has never broken down/failed to start - nice and simple), and avoid the hassle of sourcing a suitable replacement.
Negatives? Well obviously it will never be worth anything like what it owes me post conversion, but that's not the main consideration. I'd probably need to upgrade front brakes at least, and whilst I'm told all std engine internals are good for 200-220bhp, it's obviously going to eat through certain parts a lot quicker, thinking general drivetrain here, with almost double the std bhp...
I could get a Mk3 Focus ST Estate, but a) I don't like the shape nearly as much, b) I dislike the interior/dash etc, c) it's full of extra electrical kit that I neither need or want and d) it'll be much more than 4.5k to change.
So... am I mad to consider this option? Any other pros / cons that I haven't mentioned (insurance I suppose...hmmm)?
Any other Focus or slightly bigger Estates to consider? Must be manual, must handle as well / almost as well as Focus Mk2, and must have as few elec' 'aids' as possible (not talking about ABS, TC etc, more things like lane departure warning, park assist, auto tailgate etc etc).

I wouldn't stick a supercharger on it. If you want more performance on a budget, I would look at an accident write off 2ltr car, hatch or estate and transplant it. It would cause insurance issues as well, for modifying it and wonder if it is actually worth doing, rather than chopping it in and buying something that's quicker/ estate/ cheaper to do than convert/ less grief and a working car from the off. 2007 Fords are starting to get a bit leggy, although yours is low mileage, most are probably nearing 100k now.
why not buy a Ford Mondeo 2.5t, you can get a 2007 plate for 5k similar mileage to yours, get a remap and should tick your boxes.

Hmmm, hadn't considered the Mondeo 2.5T... Worth a closer look, though not sure about extra size over Focus on narrow Devon lanes. Always liked the shape of the Mk4 Mondeo, and never realised it came with the volvo 5 pot!
Re a duratec 2.0 transplant, what are the main considerations? Guessing the looms will need to be changed, is gearbox the same? What about engine mounts?
