Focus st225 powerflex help...

Hey guys got really smart low mileage mr260 st225 in perf blue. Mot advisory was on fromt control arm rear bushes.... Done these heaps of times on my e36/e46 bmws ive had!
Bought some purple powerflex ones .... How the bleeding heck do you get them in? I have used m16 thread bar, steam caps spacers, large washers etc etc, got them almost all the way in with about 5 mm left to go as the securing lip/step wont go past the fold in the bracket you press them into. Any idea welcome!

P.s i have fitted lots of powerflex products on my own cars before and never come across one this awkward.... Not even found a oem one this awkward to fit!
