Hi. Have just bought an ST24 ( couldn't quite stretch to an ST200). I'm thinking about chipping it and wondered if anyone had chipped one of these and whether it makes any sort of real difference.
Cheers

Not had experience chipping a V6 but i did chip our Fiesta Zetec-S, did crude 30-70 times through the gears before and after and the "chipped" ecu was producing figures nearly 1.5 sec SLOWER than standard
Just as well it was a piggy back chip

Try the UK Mondeo forum on www.fordmondeo.org

Lots and lots of people have modified their V6s. I wouldn't bother with a cheapo Superchip type thing though, as you see they can result in worse performance.

Common mods include a secondary cat bypass, ST200 inlet manifolds and ST200 throttle body. I'm not totally convinced that K&N type filters produce any overall benefit, and they would need a custom ECU setup to show much extra power.

As Zad said really. One hint, if you are gonna go for an induction kit, get something like a Pipercross Viper as its sealed. Because of the underbonnet temps, the normal foam filters suffer from heatsoak and whilst it makes a lot of noise it wont give any more power...it will just lose! I know a lot of guys have used panel filters with Collins chips and a decent exhaust with good results.
