I have a budget of 3 grand to buy a focus,which model would you go for
i have the choice of 2 at the moment
1999 1.8 lx 5dr 97.000 miles £2900
2001 1.6 zetec 5dr 114.000 £3000

In terms of power, there's very little between them... 100bhp and 115bhp.

To be honest I think the 1.6 is better matched to the gearbox, and the Zetec trim comes with a few extras, so I'd go for that.

Podia there is also a 1999 2.00 ghia 109k on the clock for 3 grand ,would you prefer this one to the zetec

Ghia gives you a lot more toys... but again, the 2.0 is only around 130bhp. It's more of a cruiser than the spritely 1.6.

If any of them have the heated front screen AND / OR air con, that'd probably be what swayed me...
