2014 Ford Fiesta ecoboost Very Heavy Clutch

Ok, scenario as follows:
My wife uses her 1.0 ecoboost Fiesta as a driving instructors car, probably max 20 hours a week.
2014 model now covered 25k and the clutch is very very heavy (much heavier than my TVR Chimaera!) with virtually no bite or feel.
Ford basically say they need to have the car for 2 or 3 days (2 or 3 days lost business) to see what is wrong but it is possible that the clutch is worn out and will cost £700 to £800 to replace.
My question: is this normal? We have never had this before, all our previous driving school cars have lasted 3 years and at least 50 to 60 thousand miles on the origional clutch. When asked if any other driving school fiestas have suffered the same issue the answer was no.

If it's had 25,000 miles of people who can't drive riding the clutch and stalling it and holding the clutch pedal at the bite point at traffic lights then it wouldn't surprise me that it's worn out tbh!
Well thats never happened before in the last 20 years + of teaching! as per my previous post, all previous cars lasted at least 3 years I didn't say that it was definitely the cause, I just said that it wouldn't surprise me
Either way it sounds knackered - probably to do with the clutch pressure plate / springs if it's not the hydraulic system, whether that's due to a manufacturing fault or the way it's been driven is a bit of an unknown really.

Just had a new clutch fitted by a local independent garage. 3.5 hour job and £650 all in (Using genuine Ford parts) including new front pads as well, compared to Fords £750 min just for the clutch.
How strange that Ford now supply a new version of the clutch which has a much smaller friction plate. Why would they do this if there isn't a problem with the original design? They also charged an £8 surcharge and wanted the old clutch back! Bit odd if you ask me? Or maybe thats normal these days?

What is a Ford TSB by the way? Both my local dealers were great until i purchased the cars and are now dreadful, dont want to know at all.
Sadly, ill be going back to Volvo or Audi or may try Mercedes in 2 years time!

My car is a school car, ford fiesta tdci 1.6. Its a zetec s model with 104k original clutch. My clutch began getting hard id say at 95k where now i feel my left leg has loads more muscles. My students complain when doing manoevours aswell. My local ford dealer said it is the pressure plate. I feel like id want to change but at same time waiting little longer until it starts to slip as my aim is to drive till 200k 😀 Then il change all parts with clutch.
So I changed my clutch at 110k everything was fine. Now it's hitting 150k and it's gone hard again
It's come to the point where I will be changing to another car as my students are finding it hard to drive . Really annoying as ford clutch was used. Both my fords leak oil when my 1999 Merc hasn't leaked a drop of oil.
