Thanks to some local hooligan's my Dad'd n/s mirror on his '99 V reg Fiesta is cracked. As this is a ghia model the mirror is heated and electric. I've never changed a mirror glass before and wandered if any PH'ers know how to do this. I have only just found out about his misfortune, and a think that the housing is ok. Any advice will be gratefully recieved.

Hi m8, it's along time since i've fitted a mirror glass to that series of Fiesta

from memory, the mirror backing plate just clips on to the motor assembly, and the heating elements are just 2 spade terminals.

Thanks again NightHawk for your help. When I had a look myself last night I found that the housing was cracked and needs replacing too. So now I've got the expense of buying a housing, painting it, and a new glass. (it never rains.........)Am I right in saying that if I were to remove the black triangular trim the bolts for the mirror are locacted behaind this.Once the bolts are undone, I can carefully remove the mirror housing until I see an electrical connector, which just need unclipping?

Thanks again for your help mate.

I'm afraid the door panel does need to come off to do it as there is a single screw in the trianglar panel.

Fiesta 96-> panels can be a bit fiddly to get off without damaging the little clips on the back of it, so take care and you'll be fine.

Thanks again NightHawk. I've just ordered a door mirror assembly online primed and ready for painting. These things are never cheap are they.
Thanks again mate.

I hope you bought a genuine Ford mirror assembly

you shouldn't have any problems with it.
