Hi, just wondering if any of you guys think one of these units would fit into one? or if you know of anyone that has done the convertion.

i know that its nota ford plant, but it would still make a mean motor. upto 400bhp stock, and with a fear mount turbo you can be looking at over 500bhp at the rear wheals.

so what do you think? can it? has it? will it work?

thanks Chris.

thanks trevorw, look on this site a bit and is where i got the idea from. just wondering if anyone has done it, or are planning to as i think it could be a gower! the LS units are a touch smaller than the rover V8s (acording to the site above) so it should fit.

thanks Chris.

this something i would love to do to my 4i

i can't see it being to difficult, if you got a crated engine with all the management stuff etc, i.e. ready to run. mate it to a T5 which will fit no problems, fabricate some engine mounts etc and bobs your uncle.

like u say plenty of rovers been done, even 302 ford engines (xr8) so it should be physically possible just the cost thats prohibative.

i cant see the cost being that bad. you are looking at about 350bhp (LS1 from a Cammero) as standard! you could pick a resonable motor up on Ebay from the states $4K! so you would be looking at about £3K to get the thing back over here. then as you said, its juts the mounts and the plumbing.

andyone know if one of these things will go onto the cossy box? could make for a VERY interesting motor!!!!!

thanks Chris.
