Ford Ka timing belt

Good evening.
The wife has just potentially purchased a 2009 Ka (2nd generation shape) with the 1.2 engine, but we cannot find any information on the timing belt replacement. It appears that the interval is 48k miles or 4 years, but I cannot find anywhere how much it would cost to get it done, or how easy it is to do.
I know it's not really a PH car (LOL) but does anyone have any experience of this?

I've just logged into my works 'Autodata' to check this out and it quotes 62500 miles or 60 months for timing belt replacement. It also quotes 2.4 hours to do the job which also includes replacing the water pump as its driven by the timing belt.
Any engine with the water pump driven by the timing belt should have the pump replaced at the same as the belt. Any play in pump bearings or if the pump seizes could be catastrophic otherwise.

Well, one of my local Ford dealers didn't bother to phone me back with a price, and one dealer wants £300 for the job. The last time I paid somebody to do a timing belt was on a Land Rover Discovery and it's a real pig of a job, and it was only £350, so £300 for a Ka seems a bit steep. I've done several myself and generally can do it in an evening so how difficult a job is it? Ford genuine parts are about £60.

According to Ford, I won't need a water pump - they reckon it's driven by the auxiliary belt! I will have a look at the car when we get it and see. £60 was for the belt, tensioner and stretch bolts.However if your local one is that cheap let me know. I could do with some bits myself..
Good evening. Just a quick catch-up. Now the timing belt is due, we've phoned a few Ford garages and, with the water pump, the price is up to £500!! The Fiat garage wouldn't entertain doing the job!! I can get parts from GSF, including the pump, for around £90. The good news, though, is that Haynes are just about to release a manual - so we have one on order and are going to do the job ourselves
For those picking up this thread, a few pointers just in case its needed. An honest guy named John suggests that you use FIAT garage because 1.2 engines all built by them. Next point. Partner had a garage do the timing belt. They claimed to have Ford experience. Took them three attempts to get timing right! Two attempts to get the right tools. And after all that, we discover the dash nacel surrounding gear stick coloumn change has been mis-aligned with one lug pointing outwards, not inwards. Cannot say for sure what special tools are needed, but there is reference to a set on eBay. Garage stated that engine configuration has changed slightly and that a "learner" thingy ma jig needed setting. Whatever is required, it doesn't sound particilary easy. If the timing is out, you will know when you get to 70mph because car will then fall back to 50mph from then on. We know because it happened twice. Car was in garage for a total of three weeks and two courtesy cars to help out!
