Sierra Cosworth front springs
Discussion
Hi,
looking for a bit of advice. Had cut-in-half front springs on my Cosworth before (previous owner). I had them replaced with springs I picked up at Motabitz when last in the UK, which were meant to be standard size. However the front tyres were still scraping on wheel arches. Well, just had my winter snow tyres put on and I can barely get around corners now!
I seem to remeber Ford saying I couldn't get originals anymore... What are the spring make/size to go for in your opinions?
Cheers!

I wasn't aware the suspension coil springs had been added to the NLA list.
I can check with a few people at daventry tomorrow though, what year and type is the cossie?
If they are now obsolete, you may be able to pick up a second hand set from owners in the RS clubs who've replaced their springs and struts with aftermarket units.
also, what size are the tyres?
I can't remember ever seeing a listing of the springs free length or rate.

Many Thanks Nighthawk.
It a 92 4x4 Saphire 'special edition' - I think one of the last to roll off the prod line (awesome for heading up the mountains, skiing. Have pulled out all sorts of cars stuck in snow ;-).
Oups - left the Cossie at home...summer tyres are 15 205 something though....will check tonight.

ops:
Sorry, I forgot this thread
I checked with a few people on the springs, they are not on the no longer serviced list on the UK microcat and Rapid systems. I couldn't see anything on the screens to say that the vehicles sent to your part of the world were any different from UK spec.
I'd have another trip into a dealer and ask them to recheck.
