After lots and lots of searching and emails to Ford Dealers, I have just had my 2008 Ford Fiesta diesel upgraded to USB so it can take the ipod or usb sticks. Excellent!

All the work was done by Nathan Woodbridge, +44 (0)784 366 5132, e@nath.so , www.nath.so including sourcing all the official ford parts and fitting at my house. Massively cheaper than Ford were quoting me. I am sure there others out there that can do a similar job, but he came recommended and has done this to 50+ fiestas including his own!

He even put on the latest usb/ipod ECU upgrade so I didn't need the £25 Y connector!!

Also had the cruise control done at the same time with official (secondhand) ford parts - works like a dream cloud9. I just had to initially check it was compatible http://fiestawiki.net/tiki/tiki-download_file.php?... from http://fiestawiki.net/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Cru... . It even switches on the cruise symbol on the dash! Brill!

This is the thread that originally triggered my search http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/8576-ad... see here for the parts list, if you want to DIY.

Edit: To get the links right!

Final Note:

I managed to sell the replaced bluetooth connectivity module for £80+ and got the replaced steering wheel and radio controls up for £40ish - so the upgrade is even cheaper than I thought smile

That sounds brilliant!

How much did it set you back to have the cruise control fitted?

£80 to install and activate the cruise control (£25 just for the activition file which you can download yourself but then you have install the new cruise control part which requires removal of the airbag - eek! see http://fiestawiki.net/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Cru... ) and effectively £10 for the music/cruise control part, once I have sold the replacement steering wheel + music controls! bargain

Old thread but it comes up fairly high when you Google "Fiesta cruise control retrofit" so wanted to just add that Nathan is still doing cruise control retrofits and his number shared by the OP is still correct.

Hes a top bloke and does top work. Drop him a line if this is something you're interested in. When we were speaking he mentioned he can now do 7.5 and mark 8 Fiestas too!
