Hi All,

I just bought a 2005 Mondeo ST 2.2 TDCI today.
I would like to know which is the best Mondeo forum to join for advice on all aspects of running the car. Is it worth paying to be a member of the mondeo ST forum?

Also, the previous owner has told me to check the tyre pressures every few weeks as they go down. He said the wheels might be 'porous'. He has has the alloys refurbed a year ago and they look excellent cosmetically.

I think I should monitor the pressure issue and if the tyres do lose pressure then I will just buy a set of new 18inch rims. I plan to keep the car for a while.

Mine had an issue with one of the tyres going flat, it was corrosion on the inside of the rim causing the bead to leak air and the valve not to seal 100%

When I got a tyre changed, they sanded it down for me on the inside and has been fine since!!

Other things to watch are injectors!!

Thanks mate.

Given the guy had all the wheel refurbished 12 mths ago and it is still doing it, then i think their must be a more serious structural defect with the wheel perhaps/
I am thinking of buying these wheels when I next change the tyres:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271218627555?ssPageName=...

Also, the brakes are terrible! I think I might go for this Focus ST upgrade in ebay link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ST220-TDCI-Brake-upgrade...

Finally, I have the 'rear bumper drop' problem. Is it ok to leave as it is, or will it causes any other issues?

Many thanks

I guess it depends how thorough they have been and if its leaking around the valve, it could possibly be a cracked rim, I guess you will have to have the tyre off to find out.

I had the brake fluid changed in mine and drilled and grooved discs, the Focus upgrade is meant to make a big difference, but I found decent fluid and disc/pads combo was enough for me.

My bumper had dropped a bit but it never bothered me, I think its pretty common.

Hi I’m looking for some info... I have a black mondeo st tdci with front near side wing damage. Can I fit a normal mondeo wing or is the ST wing different? If so does anyone know where I could get a 2nd hand one from?? TIA

Same as a standard Mondeo as far as im aware. Plenty of breakers on ebay for parts.

ST wings are different, the wheelarch is flared out more than it is on a non ST car and they also have an indent in the bottom corner that the sideskirt fits into.

100 % Agreed.

When my ST wing was damaged, I was in the same position. The ST wing is completely different.
I purchased mine in the same colour (perfomance blue) from an ebay seller called MK3mondeospares or something similar. The colour matched to the rest of the car too.

Your best bet is to find an ST which is being broken for parts and contact the seller.
