Big fan of the current Focus (especially the RS!) but the offical pics of the new Focus leaves me feeling disappointed. i think it looks alittle boring (abit like the Golf), and isn't bringing anything new to sector. interior looks nice i hope it uses good quality plastics

new pics can be seen over on www.4car.co.uk

what do people think?

Must admit I prefer the current shape - the new one could be any old Nissan/Toyota/Hyundai/Daewoo!

Lets hope the Cosworth variant improves the exterior signifcantly.

Afraid to say quality of plastics, in 2005 car, not up to class standards at the moment.

have sat in new Focus?
the new Astra is very well made, and imho will be the new bench mark for interior quality.

Not as bad as i first thought could have been a bit more adventerous in the styling although i have just ordered a Focus Ghia TDCI current shape .

As for saying the interior quality isnt there , the dash looks to be slush mould on the top same as the mondeo and hard plastics low down if its the same as the C-Max its pretty good , better than the new golf and tourag anyway (yes ive worked on them) which the quality is quite frankly shite .

hope the new one drives as well as the old

i agree, not been impressed of the new golfs quality. imho the new astra was better.

my only concern is that it drives like the old focus! interior looks nice, hope its good.

I noticed that a lot of new FWD cars have high centre consoles these days, they may as well make them with a transmission tunnel and 4WD/RWD.

I think because the platform is shared its got the ability for 4wd hence the high console , the mondeo is the same look underneath the mk3 mondeo and you can see the hole for the gearstick to go through .

I have a 53 plate Focus 1.6 Zetec and a new Boxster. Now allegedly the Boxster is one of the best balanced cars in it's class, but I have to say the Focus in my opinion is a bloomin good drive and is more than capable of giving the boxster a run for it's money in the entertaining drive category.

I have currently got a new 54 plate Golf as courtesy car as the Boxster is in the bodyshop to remove some scratches in the paint, that were there on delivery. The Golf is in my opinion is "awful". it's gutless, I feel like a dwarf sitting in it and it has not specification at all.

Will I be ordering the Focus MK 2, after reading the car magazine reviews - You bet I will
