Mk3 Mondeo - solution to dead aircon.
Discussion
Last week the aircon on my 54-plate Mk3 Mondeo stopped. Went to Kwik-Fit for a regas, which didn't solve the problem. Kwik-Fit diagnosed an electrical fault as the 7.5A fuse had blown.
After some hunting, I discovered the aircon fuse also works the Cruise Control, the heater washer jets, and the aux heater (not fitted on my car).
Unplugged the washer jets, put a new fuse in, and aircon and cruise are working again.
So, if the aircon stops in your Mk3 Mondeo, it may well be the washer jets have shorted out, blowing the fuse.

Hi all
Recentrly my MK3 Mondi's batery has died. After replacing it, the climatronic died also.
I verified all the fuses related to aircon.
With Ford diagnose device I read the DTC's :
U1202
U1262
P1000
P1633
It seams ( U1262 ) the OBDII devices do not communicate......
That's all, I am stuck.
If someone can help....
Regards

The p codes are for flat battery and readiness tests not complete, just clear and forget those.
the 1202 code is for missing data from the window module, have you reset the windows yet?
Thank's for replay.the 1202 code is for missing data from the window module, have you reset the windows yet?
What is the "WINDOW MODULE" ?
How can I reset this module ?
The windows are functioning fine...

Why clutter up the place with a new thread when this one will do ?
My recently acquired MK3 Mondeo has non functioning air con. I had no idea whether there was any gas in it so got it re-gassed by a helpful chap who then spent a while looking over it.
Found that there was no live feed going to the a/c pump. When you did put a feed to it it would fire up.
He checked the relays and fuses at the front of the car , I checked the fuses inside the car - all good.
He had a diagnostic machine that worked out that whenever you pressed the A/C button, it showed on the LCD displayed that it was on but in fact hadn't switched it on. Thank Ng it was therefore a dodgy air con module in the dashboard I just got another second hand one - no difference. (I know as its second hand it might not work still).
It was mentioned above about cruise control not working and today I have also found out that mine is not working. Looking at the manual they work on different fuses, but have checked all of them anyway.
Any air con/auto electricians out there that can shed any light on anything else I could look for ?

Wiring loom can rub through on the offside (UK drivers side) suspension strut.
