What happened to this G4 in the end?
Discussion
I know it was a Q-plate, and was probably an exercise in getting rid of some spare parts on Spadge's behalf before he left, but does anyone know what happened to the blue G4/4 that Ginetta Heritage was selling a few months back? This one to be precise: http://www.ginettaheritage.co.uk/2010-09-17%2012.1...
If I had the money at the time I probably would have bought it. £7950 sounded like a bargain to me. What did you lot think of it?

I might know where the g4 is.....may I ask why you want to know??
Don't worry, I wasn't planning on getting in touch with the owner or anything. Just wondered if it turned out to be any good. I've been desperately wanting a Ginetta for a long time, and that one seemed to fit the bill.Of course, if it did come up for sale again then I'd certainly consider it if the price was right ... though for the next month or two the right price would have to be whatever I can between the cushions of my sofa

I think it's unlikely, but I will try and find out if the car might be for sale in the future....
Please don't go to too much effort on my account! As I said, my bank balance isn't too pretty at this very moment, so I wouldn't want to get their hopes up if they did decide they wanted to sell it.its a G4/S4 with a replacement bonnet in the "old" G4 design...one of the body-panel reproductions from ginetta-heritage b4 Spadge disapeared.
so the car is not "old" nor "historic"...its "only" a G4/S4 built up by ginetta heritage.
as i remember it had a tuned 1300 xflow fitted...so not a real pleasure for normal road use.

I sat in the car at spadges. It was a G27! It had a g4 bonnet which spadge had cut down the middle and widened. He'd also had a go at improving th rear boot. It had a rear lipped bootlid that left a distinctly awkward step in the line where the boot lid meets the rear wings. It had Jag irs "heavy but it works" he said. The engine spadge was talking about fitting (it wasn't in then) was a 1300 X-flow. He said it could have a Zetec if a customer wanted it.
IT WAS A G4/S4, definately NOT a G27.
the car was advertized in certain web sales pages, over months. in disassembled condition from a privat seller. he wanted 3500pound. the car was registered already on a Q-plate.
it seams that ginetta heritage bought it finally, built it up and fitted a new bonnet in the "old" G4 design.

Certainly appears to be G4/S4 with an IRS grafted on - Does not look like a G27 chassis.

thanx to confirm my statement about being a G4/S4
what i forgot to mention:
when the car was for sale (disassembled, b4 spadge bought it) the seller stated that it was converted at Ginetta with an IRS some years ago.
a G27 chassis is totally different in the front section (bulkhead, differnt tubing, shorter drivers legroom in a g4/s4, front suspension...)

My apologies, I think we've been discussing different cars. Just looked at the pics G15wiz has linked above. That is the car I saw, and sat in, and discussed perhaps buying with Spadge just before he left GH. He called it a G27. Looks like a G27 to me (although I happily admit to being no authority).
