ginetta g31 resto
Discussion
Hi All,
Recently bought a G31 with a 2.0 Lt Pinto, however I am looking to replace this with a 2.0 pinto turbo.
Would really appreciate it if anyone has got any info for this conversion i.e engine mounts, brakes, exhaust, chassis upgrade pistons cranks etc.
Also I believe there were around 70 of these built and am wondering how many are left, any info would great.
Thanks
Tom

There are 12 listed with the Ginetta owners club and I have seen about 8 others over the last 3 years come and go on e-bay and PH classifieds - Mine is one of three which is regularly seen on the GOC stand at shows - Its not a show car by any means.
Mine does have an interesting history and there is a post about it on this forum if you have a look.
It started out with a 2.1 Pinto that was changed to a 2.0 YB Turbo then a 2.0L Pinto Turbo - Now a mild tune 2.0 205 pinto. Through all the changes the engine mounts remained the same - although mine has mounts that drop the engine back in the chassis about 40mm - Rad is a Sierra Cosworth item stuck right up front in the nose - This leaves room above the front chassis rail infront of the stock rad position for the Cossy intercooler - Bonnet has twin Cossy vents and the bonnet and footwell area on the drivers side is heat blanket sheilded.
Rear axle LSD
Brakes BMW vents converted with AP four pots - Bias pedal box no Vacuum
Box Type 9 5 speed with quick shift.
Polybushed
Adjustable spax all round.
Its up for sale in a couple of weeks as I now have 3 Ginetta's and a Fisher Fury and cannot keep them all.
