As per the title. Got a few questions about the G50EV and would appreciate some info.

Email me through my profile if you prefer.

Or if anybody can suggest who is best to contact at the factory?

Thanks

Thanks for the replies but it seems it was in vain. I had a response from the factory which says they are too busy and, reading between the lines, basically says Foxtrot Oscar and don't contact us again kind of thing.

A little bit disappointed by the response but hey-ho, not to worry. We were only after some info as we have a Uni project that would mean looking into the infrastructure for EV charging. I'll maybe try some other manufacturers and see if they can spare us some time.

ETA: It wasn't Lawrence that replied, I thought it was a bit rude to email through his profile when he maybe doesn't even read PH any more. Just clarifying in case anybody thought otherwise.

I have to say that I have generally found Ginetta rubbish at dealing with emails. Its part of their PR that needs some attention, if any one from Ginetta reads this maybe they would like to take note.

Well, now I no longer have a ginetta I can be honest. I completely agree unfortunately. I was trying to give them my hard earned cash on two ocassions to buy two different cars and unfortunately on both occasions i was treated like an inconvenience. I have been silent on the subject until now, but twice I have been in contact now to realistically buy a car and twice I have come away feeling as though i had been dealt with in contempt. I should mention I have bought 3 ginettas in the past, two from the factory, not that this should matter. I only write this in the hope that someone reads it and takes it on board.

I should add mine were phone calls followed by visits in garforth. Email is not the way to realistically get the attention of a company. If you are serious pick up the phone and organize a meeting.

I have had similar issues with phone calls as I have had with emails.

Shame really. If they really want to start selling G40 road cars and Farbio's then they might have to up their game where the general public is concerned.

Like you James, I have kept quiet for a few years and I also write this in the hope that someone will take notice!

Woooo. That's not good.

One (imo) of the biggest problems with UK industry today.
Many seem never to have heard that acorns can grow into oaks and business with a minnow is as important as business with a large fish (some who turn out to be sharks!laugh).

Personally, with my business I never had any intention to turn into an oak. But it is interesting that some of those who treated me like a minnow in the early days (late 80s) who like me are still around (many aren't!) tout me now for my business...
as said ...'foxtrot oscar'.

I'll say. The number of times I've asked UK companies for quotes (I'm a design engineer so do this kind of thing all the time) and get nothing back is staggering.

I thought there was a recession on, and people were keen for business?

That's a more general rant - I can't comment on feedback from Ginetta, but as they're recruiting I'll tell you if they respond to my CV wink

Interestingly, my son just told me he actually emailed them when he finished his engineering apprenticeship, saying he was interested as they had a 'vacancies' bit on their site.
Just told me he hadn't had the courtesy of a reply.

Didn't matter, he continued with BMW (where he served his apprenticeship) - is now in quality, loves his job, on good money - and 'they' (BMW) are now paying for him to do a degree course at Uni as well. Landed on his feet I think is the term. But then BMW is not a UK company is it!

I don't know with Ginetta, myself and the old man have contacted them several times.

Afew years ago when the new premises were being built my father actually rang Lawrence and felt really chuffed.
On the other hand I've been sending emails lately, one was to purchase some clothing as during the owners AGM I saw they had afew items. All I got was an email back asking if I'ld like a baseball cap which I did get after chasing but I'ld still like to purchase a jacket lol.

On the other hand I did another email asking who manufactured the windows for their current cars and was told to contact heritage. Cut a long story short the big glass company pilkington have a specialist place and actually supply Ginetta. They're really nice people and if you ever need that 1 panel of glass made up go there!

But in short hand yes always phone, unfortunatly email is for spam and if your interested in anything be it a job, some car work or a loan always speak to someone.

Whenever I have phoned (3 times), the person who answered the phone couldn't deal with the query and took a message and promised a call back.

Call back never happened. The only decent contact I have had with them was via Lawrence on here about 18 months ago.

Not sure that I can answer your questions fully regarding the G50EV but I would be happy to deal with any regarding the Ginetta F400. I would also do my best to direct any to the factory should you have 'reply' issues.
