i thought round tubes where produced until 1966, followed by square?

this one has a Date of First Registration 22 05 1964 and year of manufcature from 1964

also: should a 1964 modell not be equipped with a pre-crossflow as x-flows came later?

i own this issue of the magazine....the ginetta story has been written in a relatively "compressed" way....ok...space and pages are limited...but more details and less pictures of a modern dare would have improved the story.

there arent many ginetta´s in germany, but enough to show the "hisotric" aspects of the brand.

ok..back to the square tube G4...any news about this car?

As Jack D says, it's a Shorpe G4.
Built in mid 1990s. Fitted with period plate.

Now sold.
Wonder what the logbook says?
Must say 1964 but it's a mid 90s G4!

Buyer might be disappointed ...or not, may not care?
I would!

fact is:

if somebody wants to drive a car that looks like a G4, but not want to spent the same money as for a "real" G4, i think such a car is ok for him.

at minimum he should be aware himself or informed from the seller about the fact that he buys a kind of clone/fake.

also the sales-price should be a warning for every potential buyer as proper G4´s would sell for more.

and as long as you don´t plan to participate in historic race series this isnt so critical.

Fact?

This car is 'not' a fake, nor is it a clone!
It 'is' a genuine Ginetta G4, built by Ginetta Cars (1994/5).

The problem is it is purported to be a 1964 example, when it is not.

And me. I can't place it though.
B&W pics are a bit not period (plastic carrier bags and trainers were not about in the 60s! - could be mid 70s though?).

Ah yes you're right as usual Geoff.

Penny dropped when I looked at the pics again, the one with another G4 behind (coupe), that's Teuling's other G4.
