Hope all your cars are back on the road ready for our main event?

The National Kit Car Motor Show, Stoneleigh –
Sunday 2nd & Monday 3rd May 2010

The Ginetta Owners club will be providing free Hospitality to members including lunchtime BBQ and drinks both days.

Club regalia will be on sale but it may be worth pre ordering items to make sure they are in stock.

Sundays Concours classes and voting will be as per last year by members. (Pick up a form at our hospitality tent).
Best in show. Best original. Best modified. Best Built Kit. Best 4 seater.
We have had bespoke hand made trophies made this year which look great thanks to Ginetta heritage.

Stoneleigh Evening Bash
I hope many of you will want to stay for the weekend near the showground and for those that do I will be organizing a Sunday Evening get together and meal for members and families at The Oak Coventry Road Baginton. If you want to join us please let me know as soon as you see this and if you need a list of local accommodation near the Showground please ask.
Camping is always available on site and tickets can be bought at the gate.
As per usual entry is free to Ginetta Drivers but not passengers and if you plan to trailer your car you ideally should leave the tow car and trailer outside at your Hotel then drive the Ginetta in. Last year a lot of cars on trailers were refused entry unless dropping off on Saturday before the show opens.
Always try to arrive early in a Ginetta as large queues appear very quickly outside the main Exhibitor entrance.
Before 10am should be ok to avoid the big delays.

Hi H,

Might make it for one of the days. You going to Newby Hall the following week (9th) for CITP?

I hope to make it in the G33 for sunday. I concur about arriving early, it took me 45 minutes to get in when I came in 2008.

I hope the weather is ok.

Cant Make Newby as my son is being Christened that weekend. Had my G21 and G4 both there but the G33 is not old enough Pre 72 to qualify. Hope to see you soon for a catch up and let me know about any other local events T.

Do you work for the BBC?
I've been outside all evening - just come in from garden as its now getting dark.
BBC Weather website says (this minute) for my area (Brize Norton)
'rain clearing away this evening' rolleyes
??????????
What rain? It's cool, overcast and cloudy. NO rain.

Sat it says by pic: Heavy Rain Shower
running caption for Sat says: Some sunshine tomorrow but increasing chance of rain.
Make your mind up!

Sun it says: Heavy Rain.
No running caption for Sunday: WHY? is Sunday too far ahead?

My prediction?
The wind has been reasonably strong - the beeb saying it will go from NW to NE to southerly on Monday.
So imo with less of change of wind direction, or even a earlier change of wind direction I think Sunday will be dampish early, but clear up for a cloudy, mainly dry day with odd breaks of sunshine in the Midlands area.

All in all, no sunburn, but as 5 pm approaches we'll all be dry and didn't need a brolly after all.

You heard it here first from 'I looked out the window forecasting'.

Footnote
Bear in mind that I can edit this and change the forecast over the next 48 hours... just like the pro's!

If I'm way out, should I apply for a job at the Beeb?biggrin

Harvey, it was good to see you all, your G33 is looking good. I bought some new door seals at the show so it will be interesting to see if they make a difference.

First time I've not been in years as something cropped up. So I thought might as well go on Monday ...then the clouds built up and it started raining so...
Cold and windy too.
Must be the worst weather the show has had for some years?

I remember when I had a GRS in the 80s (yeah, that long ago) one year it actually snowed quite heavy for a while on the way back home from Stoneleigh!

No. It was snow!
Only thing I got wrong was after checking my files it wasn't when I had the GRS, I was in my G15.

Can't you remember it? 1981.

Here's a quote from that time.
End of April 1981: A blizzard hit the Midlands, Wales and South West England. The snow was wet so weighed down many power lines resulting in thousands without electricity for over 24 hours.

And just for piccy proof from Wales...
