I tagged along with my dad's classic car club last night to tour the factory just up the road in sunny Garforth and I have to say, I was mightily impressed. Being particularly into lightweight cars, race cars and kit cars it was right up my street.

Anyhow, I took a fair few pics ( http://www.juansolo.demon.co.uk/misc/Ginetta/) that’ll lurk on my site for a while if anyone’s interested, here are a three of my favorites:

Completed G40

Completed G50

The utterly barking Zytek G50 (with the engine from the LMP1)

Is that a G10/11 or an MGB? Dont they share the same windscreen?

The G12 isn't an original. There was an MGB and a Stag at the back. As well as a G4.

Typically too many people around it and it was getting late so we were moved on by the time they cleared. frown

If that's true it seems quite odd that an unauthorised continuation G12 is on display at the Ginetta factory. The promotion of a car that breaches copyright and is almost certainly inferior to a real one, or a Dare G12,is a little at odds with the image of the new Ginetta.

Maybe Dare should start making G50's if thats how things work. I wonder how long it would take Lawrence to unleash some throat ripping City Lawyers.

That G10 ( or is it a G11) must be rare in left hand drive - a very valuable Ginetta no doubt? Anyone know how many were made?

Let's try a bit of a rhyme.

Real original G10s? Very few..., there's a clue.

Real original G11s? Again, very few, but that's not a clue!

Real original G11 'Coupes', just the two and that IS true!

Here is No. 1, so that must make mine number ...

I got the impression from the talk that he wanted a G12 and was struggling to get hold of one that he wanted so had a replica built. The sort of thing Wheatcroft did with the Bugatti Royale that's in the Donington Collection, rather than to piss on anyone's chips. It wasn't on display either, it was just stored there with some of his other cars. The G11 was on display in the foyer.

IMHO a car does not automatically become very valuable (overpriced) because one minor detail about it is different from other, similar cars. I would guess it becomes less desirable in countries where RHD is the standard (UK, Japan and Australia?).

i suppose he could always have asked the original makers to build him one, seeing as they still make G12's regularly.
Would be nice to say you had a Walklett-built one

I know you are trying to take the piss out of someone for saying something, but on this subject i agree with you. Ginetta should make Ginetta's (that they legally can do of course). They own the rights for G10/11 and should come down hard on people like the English guy who lives in France and made that left hand drive G10!!! that he sold to Tomlingson, how foolish he must feel now, knowing now it is not a genuine item. Of course, everyone knows (especially on this website), that everything made by Ginetta Heritage is made by Ginetta Heritage and has no history at all. You appear by your comments to have a problem with products made by the Walklett's even though they were the original designers, creators of these products and are still happy to indulge and help with all their old (of which i am one) and current clientele.

You appeared to be happy with your latest purchase, even though it was design and created by the Walklett's So why do you own this car? Why not sell it and get a TVR or something else and do us all a favour and make comments sticking a fk into someone on another forum.
I guess you need to stick close to your mate at Ginetta Herritage after reading all the comments you have posted over the last few months, I doubt the Walklett's would sell you a key fob !!!!

But at least it would be a genuine key fob - or was it made by a bloke in a shed who got a mould from etc etc .....
