15 euros! I'll have it.in the same ownership for 39 years..!

I recall a young kid at Goodwood looking at 25 URO and asking if that was how much it cost, 25 euros.
Geeman, do you mean it's just been found in shed 'now'?
Shows you what is still out there.
Where is G11 Coupe No 1? Think I know, but owner is not forthcoming.
The car needs some restoration work
The car has almost all its original parts, including chassis/bodywork, engine head, gearbox, axle, suspension..
the original wheels are very corroded, does anyone know what make these wheels are, or what car they were originally fitted to?
Id like to get a set, if they cant be refurb'ed
then
now!

Those steel wheels were on lots of orig G4s, they are... (hell, I'm getting old!)... ask Trevor, he will know (or Geoff). Probably in the G4 book but I haven't got time to go reading through it.
Any pics of 'whole' car? You could have wheels shot blasted... if they fall to pieces you'll know they're shot! Could be ok though, I've seen worse.

the car as it was in 63/64.. on the streets of london??
it has successive chassis number to 25 URO, but was not made with hard-top.
plan is to restore the car with a (removable) hardtop, and also small aeroscreen for racing.. but will try to retain original features like wheels, dash etc

But i think they may be Austin derived.
I don't think the wheels are Austin. My dad always had Austins as long as they existed, I don't remember the 3 tabs for hubcap attachment.5.5J versions were available in the 60s - I bought some from John Brown Wheels in Coventry when I was at college there in 1970.
thanks for that, yes i think these wheels were fitted to many different cars of that era. The wheels in the pic are very narrow, so 5.5J would be nice, but think they are hard to come by.. I think if the PCD is 4" then it is austin derived, anything else triumph.
Dandarez- i do have the original screen so soft top would be an option still... i will try to scan the pic of the interior too

They are Austin A40, Sprite derived and could be purchased with 5.5" rims back in the sixties. Another option at the time was to take the centres and fit them into Lotus Cortina rims to give the width, also to reverse the centres in the existing rims to provide a wider track. Speak to Ivor for confirmation

Mikeg15, did you live in Canley at that time with a soft G4 ?
Not me. I lived in Beresford Avenue and had a well used Frogeye ( Shorrock blown ) I was at the Art college intending to be in the first intake to the Transport Design course . While I was there I saw my first G4 in a car park at Silverstone when I went to a vintage meeting , followed by the famous Avon Tour of Britain the same day.1969/70 I think.
