Hi folks,

In the past I have looked at the G27 mk4 and thought it looked quite nice. I notice that Ginetta no longer list it on their website and are now selling the G50 which is a lot more expensive. Have Ginetta abandoned the cheap(ish) roadster market? If so, that is a shame as I always liked their cars.

All the best.

Martin.

G27 production was finished a couple of years ago. The nearest is the G20 and I am not sure if they still make that as a road car.

They have a new coupe the G40 which will be a road car.

Haven't another car company bought the rights to the G27 ? I think it is being sold under another name but they've made the front look bloody 'orrible !!

They are GKD Sportscars and the car is called the Evolution. I really like it and it'll take a BMW M3 engine, whats not to like.

GKD recently tried to sell (ebay) all the remaining body moulds of the G27. the bonnet mould was missing. acording to GKD it was already missing in the deal years ago with ginetta.

Ginetta kept the bonnet mould so they could use it to develop the G20.

I know....!!

i guess they also wanted to avoid GKD producing the same style of g27 as ginetta did b4?

what is still a mystery for me:

did ginetta use a modified g27 mould for producing the g20 bonnets?

also somebody told me that the original g27 mould was destroyed in a fire.

so what is true and what is a tale?

is that the reson why g27 bonnets arent "really" available?

The G20 bonnet wasn't a g27 bonnet.
Ginetta later modified the G27 series 4 bonnet to take mx5 headlights.

The G27 moulds are still around, it is just that ginetta sold a G27 mould to gkd on the understanding it was to be reworked in order that it didn't resemble the G27. Ginetta still own the rights to the G27.
