If the original seller had posted up pics as good as those, he might have got quite a bit of interest.
Which would you go for pic 1 or pic 2?
Looks sooo much better in pic 2
Actually, giving it the once over again, it's got a Ginetta sticker added! and new door mirrors ...and has it had a quick respray?
Be interesting to see how much it makes. My German is not good - assume it says reserve not met?
Chassis plate shows splashes of yellow (respray?) and why part of plate obscurred? Looks VERY good outwardly though, and to have such nice chrome bumpers instead of the usual missing ones or painted black (or corroded).
Thought first time it was advertised, what is with those all those rear lights!

I always liked the G21. I saw one of the Walklets drive into the Essex factory in a white one and it looked and sounded superb. When I eventually scrabbled enough money together to actually buy one - they were very expensive in the late 80/early 90s - I found my 6'3" wouldn't fit in. Seemed odd as I could get in a G15 without trouble. I did look into ways of dropping the seat but then the money was frittered away on a new roof.
'tight'!
Nah, it's not that bad leg and knee wise, it's the height. The single 2-inch dia roll-over hoop prevents the seat reclining easily (but the r/over bar was made specially for it when made so I don't want to remove it, plus it has top seatbelt mount attachment).
Also, the floor was beefed up a bit with 3/4 in square tube which raises the Restall seats (my head almost touches the headlining!) so competition use (helmet) would be out of the question.
Of course, it could have one of the silly humps put in the roof but not while I own it!
I still need a front screen to get a new MOT, although a cunning plan to devise a split front screen - a la early Morris Minor (for MOT only) might go ahead. The screen has a very clean neat crack straight down the middle.
I'm 'slowly' (operative word in the case of my car!!) getting it back together. New shiny chrome Frogeye (rear) overriders on the front are next in line. Got to devise the brackets to fit them. Ivor did tell me how they did it on the G10 coupe, but sounded a bit Heath Robinson.

A lot of old British fibreglass stuff is held in high regard on the continent. My mini Jem sold to a Frenchman a few years ago for a fair bit more than any UK buyer would have paid, and in the latest Mini Marcos owners club mag they are saying just about every recent car has sold to the continent, and should they come up for sale again they have similar mark-ups.
the odd thing on this kind of business is that the actual seller wants to make believe that the car is for longer in his hand and has been sotred somewhere in germany for some time. which is not true, as he recently imported it from UK. also the elderly man who owned it before was mislead cause the buyer told him the car comes into good collectors hands.
making business is ok...but than please do it in a honest way.
anyway: the clock can´t be returned bakwards and it is as it is.

Geoff, not quite true about me having the only 'one'.
The G10 coupe in the USA (now back here) has one (screen that is), the 'other' G11 coupe (no 1) has one (think I've located it too!!), and I think Don had one made for his, maybe more than one?
If it's true that the 'original' G10 is back here from the US being converted to 'how it looked' as per the original G10 that raced at Brands, (Oh dear, hope I have got that completely wrong and it's not true), then it will look like an ugly MGB instead of the gorgeous coupe.
Wonder if the new owner (if true) will get a roll of black electrical tape and cut it up to make up the large word GINETTA to stick on the rear, just like the Walkletts did at the time when they got so p****d off after being told to remove a tiny sponsor decal (Dunlop?).
Thought might be a good idea after all (for me!)
IF it is true, and the new owner cuts the hardtop off, can I buy it complete with screens please!

I'd just buy the G10 and break it for spares!
Do you mean you've tracked down the David Shone car at last?
Not 100 per cent, but I can't think of another Ginetta that had an Austin 1800 radiator. Unfortunately, it's not near enough to just take a drive and see. Hoping to get some confirmation by photos.Do you mean you've tracked down the David Shone car at last?
I think if it was in your neck of the woods Geoff, Spadge or Trev would have found it by now.
It's a little further afield ...and if it is it, and he'll sell, I'm not gonna get gazumped this time!
Probably a false alarm knowing my luck, but absolutely convinced it is still out there.
