"barn find" ginettas
Discussion
a friend owns a small lockup garage and the guy renting it has done a runner owing 6 months rent.
on opening it up it was discovered that there are 5 cars in there.
All the correct legal proceedures have been followed and he has claimed the vehicles in lieu of some of the rent owed
ive been asked to sell them on for him, and was wondering if anyone on here may be able to help with values or indeed any thoughts etc.
car 1.
G32 convertible.
this appears to have been partially dismantled - but most of the parts seem to be there.
car 2.
Ginetta GRS
this is complete, but atm we have no idea if it runs or not etc.
car 3.
Ginetta G31
complete and was seen on the road last year.
im probably keeping this one for myself.
the other 2 are probably of less interest.
a 2cv and some sort of kit car (will know more when i get in there properly over the weekend to take more pics etc)
heres the pics i currently have.

You might want to try spadge @ www.ginettaheritage.co.uk
There is probably a buyer for the G32 convertible, the GRS is slightly less loved but they do sell.

The G32 Convertible appears to have never been completed or registered.
most of the fibreglass has never been painted (and what has been painted has been done with a rattle can), theres no dirt inside the arches at all etc - we dont think its ever been driven.

I think it could be an old Lotus 7 kit.
Why does it have a wood frame?
How much do you plan on selling it for?
The G2 was based on the Lotus 6

its not wood frame - LOL
the metal is simply that colour (if you look at the picture of the "spare bits" there are some other brackets of the same metal there)
as for price - make an offer worst case scenario is we could say no and you wont have lost anything.

the seven is a early robin--> so no value
these ginetta´s are ALL unloved models without any value.
conclusion: a few hundred pound and thats it.
sounds harsh, but its the truth.
especially as nobody knows if these cars ever had been registered (presume not)

had some messages about the GRS and G32 and 7 though
the GRS and 2cv have been registered previously
the G32 looks to have never seen the road and the 7 kit is the same.
this G28 could be purchased for 1250,-pound.
it has a galvanized chassis, a V6 engine and seams to be in very good nick.
its advertized since weeks.
so a good example how much these "wedge"shaped ginettas are worth.

The 2CV may be worth more than you think. Check if there are a 2CV club in your area or check

Not really. A good g31 will always sell, as well a G32 convertible. I would get the chassis number and check with the club archive to match it's reg number, as they were not supplied as kits. I suspect it was being rebuilt for some reason, unless it was bought as parts from the receivers in the early nineties, in which case may not have been registered.Edited by Comadis on Saturday 19th September 01:21
