The car that started it all ......
Discussion
The car that started my love affair with Ginetta is for sale on Pistonheads. It was seeing Pete Fletcher's immaculate G27 at Newark in 1999 that convinced me to build one of my own. I went to Newark that year with the intention of buying a kit but had not considered a Ginetta beforehand. My previous experience of Ginetta at that time were a friends G26 and GRS Tora, not what I was looking for! Having seen Pete's car in the showground before looking at the manufacturers stands meant that the show was a bit of an anticlimax as, Ginetta were not exhibiting and other manufacturers cars couldn't match what I'd seen outside.
I really can't believe the car is for sale as I've rarely seen a car with so much love and attention lavished on it. I only hope it's not for sale due to some unfortunate circumstances for Pete, a genuinely nice guy.
Ian, if you're reading this as I suspect you might, forget the Boxster and give Pete a ring.
