It's a G4 series 4, the Walkett's resurrected the G4 line up just before the G27s came out.. It's a sort of cross between the two really. It may even have the T bar roof malarky on it. I'll have a look at the books tonight for more detail..
Also see here : http://www.ginetta.org/content/view/43/39/1/2/ for more info on the G4/4s..
Of course there's a stonking G27/3 on Ebay atm ahem.

Original G4 Series IV was first featured in April/May 1981 issue of ALTERNATIVE CARS.
And on the front cover as they got the exclusive.
A copy is on ebay at the moment but BuyItNow price is daft!

Inside there is (besides the feature on the G4SIV)also a good write up inc pics on G4s.
Article is headed 'Life in the Fast Lane'
(which was the provisional title for my book way back then!)

the red g4/s4 at ebay-france was featured in a british kitcar magazine in 1989 or 1991 as best homebuilt ginetta. the car was built altready 1983!!
as i remember the story goes like this:
there have been 2 brothers buidling nearly identical G4´s. the one was yellow the other red. the yellow one was used for hillclimbs.
interestingwise both had a nearly identical q-plate registration (i think only the last letter was differnt)
as the builder didnt like the flip-lights he converted them to fiat127 ones hidden underneath these clear covers. legent has it, that ginetta came over for collecting impressions of this "new" bonnet style for their future car design. it seams as actually nicer round shaped lights are fitted. as the rear trailor style lights havent been the builder´s favourite he searched for lights which exactly match the design of the ginetta rear.
he found them in using triumph toledo ones mounting them horizontal which makes the car "smiling" when watching from rear.
it seams as the original 1600pinto low compression was changed to a more potential 2l unit. according to the seller incl. new clutch, new stainless ex-manifold and a pair of weber carbs. also the original spax shocks have been replaced using protech units (brand new). a qucik rack fast and a new+ perfeclty balanced propshaft was fitted recently. rear diff ratio is 4,11, so acceleration seams to be quite fast.
the advert says that the complete suspension was polybushed 3 years ago, car was only used in the dry at summertime.
