Is the G21 an under appreciated model? I think it looks fabulous but I've noticed they don't seem to sell as quickly as the others. What's the wisdom on the G21? I'm quite tempted

Well, I've had mine for 26 years and I'm keeping it!

Hmm....I'm umming and aahing like mad about what to get. What's the space in the back like? Much as I am tempted to be selfish I really should get something I can fit the little ones in. My children are 5 and 4. Would it work?

Probably...

but before you part with any cash let us know 'which' car you intend to go for.

Did you know the G21 (at the time) had one of the best crash results ever seen at MIRA?

I will, thank you. There are only 2 that I know of for sale at the moment. There's one on Pistonheads that looks very nice but it's such a long way from me.

Considering they only made 65 G21s, statistically the chance of finding one for sale near you is slim! frown

Lol. Very true though we will be heading that way before long so, hopefully, will be able to pop in and have look. Car looks good in the pictures. As my 5-year-old said "that's good suspensions". But I'm no expert, far from it.

There's a cheaper one on the Owners Club site classifieds BUT it's got a Zetec fitted and 15inch wheels. T&T too, however, I know little about this car - perhaps someone else does?

the red one looks quite nice...but as it is advertized since 30days without being sold its maybe too expensive or something else is wrong?

maybe the modern looking sunroof which sticks out the roof is not everybodies taste, especially not in such a nice historic vehicle?

or the holby engine makes the car un-attractive as parts arent so easy to source than on other ginettas based on ford or hillman.

I spoke to the owner of the white car. Apparently it's been messed about a bit by the previous owner (not the one who put the Zetec in, and who incidentally did one of those endurance rallies to Morocco in it!) and needs some sorting out. Nothing wrong with the Zetec, though! It's quite a low price for a fundamentally sound car if you don't mind a bit of work.

The sunroof is not a sunroof as I understand it. It's a bit of plastic or something, though sunroof replacements are available I've been told. I spoke to the owner of this one and it's a total restoration job having stood outside for 18 years with the coolant left in the engine. But the cylinders have been rebored and sleeved (pistons not available to fit the rebored dimension). I have a feeling the car is probably rather good but I am a bit mystified myself as to why it hasn't sold.

Which I don't understand. It looks like a G27 front and back but it's got a roof and the registration date is too early for a G27. I have asked for some better pictures because those ones are so tiny

The red car on PH has been re-registered. I wonder why? It was first registered on 1/2/76 despite allegedly being manufactured in 1973.

God knows. These old cars sometimes have a very chequered history. I've just been involved in the restoration of a Mini Countryman Mark 1. There were black holes all through its story.
